Deutsche Telekom expands and utilizes its group owned infrastructure across Central and Eastern Europe and strengthens its leading position in the region
Ankara, Turkey- July 10, 2008- International Carrier Sales & Solutions (ICSS), the wholesale arm of Deutsche Telekom, and Türk Telekom signed a contract for an IP uplink to Western Europe. It will run via the synergetic international networks of the Deutsche Telekom Group and will link Turkey to Internet exchanges in Amsterdam, London, and Frankfurt.
From October 2008, Deutsche Telekom will provide a total capacity of 10 x 10 Gbps via 10 end-to-end STM64 connections for an initial term of three years.
ICSS has now been able to conclude a contract with Türk Telekom for a project to cover the steadily growing capacity requirements driven by the Turkish Internet market. This was based on the initial successful agreement from 2007 in which for 2 x 10 Gbps circuits proved the possibilities and quality of the combined Deutsche Telekom Group networks.
Via the international networks of Deutsche Telekom Group, Türk Telekom network will be connected from the Turkish border through 10 routes to the large Western European Internet exchanges in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and London.
The Internet uplink connects with the Western European metropoles through Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria and Germany.
